Dog Licenses
As of January 1, 2011, all new dog licenses and renewals will be completed by the Dover Town Clerk. New York State Agriculture and Markets will no longer mail a renewal licenses. Local Law No. 3 of the year 2010 was enacted to update Chapter 53 of the Code of the Town of Dover in conformance with the change in the statute. The owner of any dog reaching the age of four months must complete the application for a license at the Town Clerk's Office. Proof of rabies vaccination must be provided for licensure. Annual renewal notices will be mailed by The Town Clerk's Office. Current fees for new dog licenses and annual renewals are the following:

Exemption from Dog License Fees
Dogs that serve as detection, guide dog, hearing dog, service dog, war dog, working search dog, detection dog, police work dog or therapy dog may be eligible for an exemption from dog license and renewal fees with proper documentation of training and service.
